Why Clark County homes see the pests they do
Vancouver sits between the Columbia River and the Cascade foothills, and the county runs from riverfront neighborhoods to farm fields and timber. Our records show that mix: city homes call us most about rats and mice, while homes out toward Battle Ground, Ridgefield and Yacolt see more ants, wasps and boxelder bugs.
Mild, wet winters keep ants and rodents active most of the year. Yellow jacket queens start new nests each spring, and by late summer those nests are full size and close to the house.
Then come the questions. Is that a mouse in the garage or the neighbor’s cat? Did the spray from the hardware store do anything? Will the wasps be back next year?
A plan puts someone else in charge of that worry. Your technician treats ahead of each season, and if something comes back between visits, you call and we come back as part of your plan.

Your Vancouver team
We hear the same stories from Clark County homeowners every week, and we know how tiring it gets to chase the same pest twice. Interstate Pest Management has been family-owned since 1963, and our Vancouver office serves the city, the east county around Camas and Washougal, and the north county out to Yacolt and Amboy.
Our customers give us a 4.96 average across 8,394 Google reviews. We’re QualityPro certified and licensed by the Washington State Department of Agriculture, and five years of our own Vancouver-area records tell us when each pest shows up, so your visits are timed ahead of it.

Local Context: Clark County, Washington
Vancouver’s pest year starts earlier than you’d think
Interstate Pest Management records over the last five years show that wasps and yellow jackets were on 14% of first visits for new customers with Clark County addresses, compared with 8% for new customers in the Portland area. April alone brought 15% of the year’s new Vancouver-area wasp calls, as spring queens picked nest sites on houses.
Rats and mice were on 40% of those first visits. Clark County rodent calls lean toward fall: September through November brought 34% of the year’s new rodent customers. Ants peak in March, and spiders in July and again in September. Your All Seasons visits are timed ahead of each of those months.
Get ahead of the next wave. Book once, and we handle every season from here, with re-services included as needed if anything comes back between visits.

City, north county and east county are different
Interstate Pest Management records over the last five years show boxelder bugs on 12% of first visits for new customers in north Clark County (Battle Ground, Ridgefield, La Center, Yacolt, Amboy and Brush Prairie), against 2% inside the city of Vancouver. North county homes also called us about wasps more often, and about rodents less often.
WSU Extension says western boxelder bugs gather on homes in late summer and fall on their way to winter shelter, and that they do not harm buildings or people. Sealing gaps around doors, windows and foundations is the first fix. In our records, boxelder calls peak in March and October.
